Championship game blogasm: Tar Heels win it all

That was a ferocious display of athleticism and coaching. The Tar Heels are champions because of superior ability and superior coaching. Now come all the Michigan State excuse makers. The Spartans had a fabulous year but in the end they were no match for a better team from a better conference. Far better conference. As if there was any doubt about that. Now, the blog falls silent so all the Michigan State excuse generators can have their say. Congratulations, Tar Heels.

Championship game blogasm: 65-46

Each time Michigan State tries to cut into North Carolina's lead, the Tar Heels make a big shot or grab a timely rebound. They're literally toying with the Spartans And please, I don't want to hear Michigan State apologists say North Carolina would've beaten any team on this night because that's not what they were saying before the game.

Championship game blogasm: blowout continues

It's 59-36 with 17 minutes left. Michigan State's offense is absent. They look like they're running the Princeton offense. Welcome to Big Ten basketball folks.

Championship game blogasm: halftime

Thank goodness. This has been one stunning stinker. 55-34 Michigan State gives up 62 a game and the Tar Heels scored 55 at the half. This has been a total and complete beatdown. In fact whatever is beyond a beatdown, this was it. You knew Michigan State was going to lose. You just didn't think they'd need a bed pan.

Championship game blogasm: Sprite

Had four cans of the stuff today. I'm starting to look like Jerome Bettis. And, of course, another Michigan State turnover. That's nine total.

Championship game blogasm: 38-18

I thought Michigan State would be obliterated but I'm still shocked at the ease North Carolina is dominating. The Tar Heels have at times gotten careless and could easily be leading by 30. This is the prototypical cat and mouse scenario. The Tar Heels are toying with the Spartans and it's only a matter of time before North Carolina crushes them. Now, it's 43-20. The once loud stadium is now a lot quieter.

Championship blogasm: humiliating

Carolina right now is on a 120 point pace. They're destroying Michigan State. We're quickly reaching the point where this could get mortifying for Michigan State.

Championship game blogasm: defense

What's most impressive about North Carolina right now: the defense of the Tar Heels. Every pass is contested, there's a hand in every shooter's face and each time a Spartan player drives he's surrounded by three or four Tar Heels. This has led to four Michigan State turnovers already.
