The Philadelphia Eagles have the dream team but the AFC is The Dream Conference. Sure, that's lame, but I can't think of a better way to describe the state of the AFC. From top to bottom, it's one of the strongest a conference has been in the NFL in some time. Just look at it...
The Steelers are coming off the Super Bowl. The Ravens are good and with the trade of Lee Evans are solid Super Bowl contenders. The Patriots have Tom Brady. Peyton Manning will be fine and the Colts are solid. The Jets have gone to consecutive title games.
The Chiefs are good. The Chargers are major sleepers. The Jaguars might be good. The Titans are better. It's insane.
The NFC is top heavy and isn't close in depth and I'd argue that the AFC this year might be the best it's been since the 1980s. If not ever.
The problem for the AFC is that teams might beat the crap out of each other before they get to the Super Bowl. I think we saw some of that last year with Pittsburgh.
So here comes the AFC. Watch out.
