Packers beat Giants, 38-35

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- How do you stop them?

When Aaron Rodgers is this accurate. When the Packers are this good. When the Packers are this opportunistic. When the Packers are this lucky.

How do you stop them?

Packers 38 Giants 35. Losses: zero and counting.

The New York Giants have been, well, giant killers but this monster proved too much. Even when the Packers are flawed, they win. Even when Rodgers is on his ass and throwing picks and his receivers are dropping passes like the football is covered in buttermilk. They win.

Rodgers has 37 touchdown passes this season two short of single-season team record held by Brett Favre (39) in 1996.

How do you stop them when they win every which way there is to win?

You don't.

Packers beat Giants, 38-35

I'm not carrying anybodys water and am a Pack fan. In critiquing the 'D' today I look at some facts before making conclusions. The Packers were on the road, always an added pressure. The Giants played poorly last year in Green Bay and last week so they had plenty of motivation to respond, additionally, the Packers are undefeated and the Giants have a knack to upset undefeated teams. Those get put into the intangibles column. In the tangible column there were not one but two linebackers not normally in the game. I didn't see the game and don't know what effect that had on passs coverage or run stopping but I do know Woodson also had to leave the game. That's a lot of changes. Couple that with the receivers dropping passes and not controling the play which would have limited Manning and his offense I can see just from those observations alone why the game hinged on a last minute drive and last second FG. Whatever the reasons were for the defensive showing, I do know the mark of any championship team is when they don't play the ir best game yet still find a way to win. Go Pack!

That's not true. The Rams are probably the worst excuse for a defense.

This team is far, far from great. I'm a Packer fan, and for the life of me, I have no idea that any team can play defense as bad as the Packers. They faced a team that was LAST in rushing, and they proceed to run for excellent yardage anytime they wanted to run. I've never seen so many defensive players make half-hearted effort to tackle ANY PLAYER who had the ball. Not only are the Packers the worst defensive team in the league, they have no clue how to tackle. Eli Manning is a good QB. But the Packers defense made him look like Johnny Unitas. WR's running free all over the field.
The Packers better figure out how to play defense, before the playoffs start. Because no matter how great Aaron Rodgers is, he won't be able to bail out that poor excuse for a defense, throughout the playoffs.

Really good game. As a Giants fan, I'll say what I say every week whether the Giants win or lose. Gilbride has got to go. Week after week, he does the same thing. The Giants find something that's working, and he stops doing it. Today it was the running game. Jacobs was gobbling up yards 5-6 at a time in the 2nd half and what does Gilbride do? He takes him out of the game. Earlier, Bradhshaw was running well getting some good runs, and what does Gilbride do? He calls 2 pass plays for every run play.

Gilbride has got to be the only OC in the entire league who lives by the philosophy of "if it works really really well, I have to stop doing it immediately".

I'm sorry Freeman, didn't you pick the Giants to win? Packers are far from perfect but you simply can't stop their offense for four quarters and the defense will get their turnovers... Hopefully you realize this for real this time and aren't just trying to look smart after the fact ;).
