Matt Schaub out for year

Posted on: November 14, 2011 6:16 pm

Houston quarterback Matt Schaub is out for the season because of a serious foot injury, a league source told me.

"He's done," the source said, "the team is devastated."

There's little chance Schaub could return even if the Texans reach the Super Bowl.

The foot is fractured and it could be three to four months before it heals completely, the source explained.

Matt Leinart is expected to start which means the Texans are toast.

Matt Schaub out for year

It's not as if Schaub was lighting it up. Running and defense is the reason this team is 7-3. Defense wins championships and the Texans D is the best in the league. Please keep doubting them. Nice article Freeman, maybe next time you can write 6 total sentences.

Hmm... I wonder if Houston would give up a couple of first round draft picks if it meant getting a QB the likes of Carson Palmer. Oh wait, someone already did that.  Well, David Garrard is still out there.

"Actually Schaub isn't that good anyway " ... You're kidding, right? Houston is done. No QB, no shot at the AFC title.

This was Leinart's plan all along!

Actually Schaub isn't that good anyway so it won't matter much.  All you have to do is hand off to Arian Foster.  And sometimes Ben Tate.  And occasionally dump the ball off to Foster.  If AJ comes back you can randomly throw to him too.  That offensive line is so good and both their RBs are very good, Foster is one of the best backs in the league.
