The Raiders have traded for quarterback Carson Palmer sending the Bengals a first round pick in 2012 and a conditional pick in 2013 that will also likely be a first rounder. The deal is done.

Jay Glazer of was the first to report the trade discussion between the two teams.

One team official said the deal should be announced either today or tomorrow.

This is a remarkable deal. Mike Brown, the stubborn owner of the Bengals, had refused to trade Palmer. He was mocked as a stubborn fool and old goat. Yet here is the old goat getting two first rounders for a washed up thrower.

Simply incredible.

I wish the Raiders would pick up Chad Johnson from the Pats for a few 1st rounders....

Palmer isn't washed up - he just had a toxic attitude from the likes of T.O. and Chad Johnson (screw Ochocino stupidity).  He'll do fine in Oakland.  The Bengals were the best 4-12 team you'd ever seen last year - "giving the game to Baltimore" to close out the season - Baltimore almost choked 3 different times in the last 4 minutes.  Palmer played well - w/o TO and w/o Chad.  He'll be fine in Oakland.  I think the Bengals and their fans win though.  NOONE wants to work with prima donnas - it doesn't play in Pittsburgh, it doesn't play in Baltimore or Cleveland - and it won't play in Cincinnati.  In fact, as prima donnas go - Only Tom Brady can be considered that - and his line and team mates work "with him" not for him.

Toxic players belong in Oakland - it's who they are (excluding the Defensive Crime Syndicate of the '06 Bengals, lol).

No matter the outcome, the ultimate winner has to be Carson Palmer. He benched himself to play elsewhere leaving millions on the table. He wanted a trade and wanted to play this year but for someone else. The spectacle between Palmer and Brown was laughable, although neither backed down and held their ground. For now Brown looks like a hero, Jackson will be a hero if the Raiders are successful and everyone may win big after its all said and done. But whatever the outcome, Carson Palmer got what he wanted.

YOU DA MAN PALMA!!!!!!!!!!

................. but my money is on Bengals lead by Andy Dalton "The Red Rifle".

Do any of you idiots realize the raiders will get 3 picks in the 3rd round for losing Miller, Gallery, and Nnamdi??  HUH MORONS???  Goodness learn football before you speak pls

First of all the Raiders are NOT going to get 3 third rounders for the players you mentioned, so before you call anybody a moron do your research.   Second of all, why does that matter?   They were already getting those picks anyway.....

Amazing how so many "Americans" want to decide when and how real Americans have to work, and for whom ala Iran.  You must be a newly arrived immigrant to not understand that.
Wow.  Here I was, thinking that I might go my whole day without reading anything truly idiotic.  Thanks for this little gem of idiocy.  Not a single word of it was true.  You really should go look up the term "contract".  You know, as in a binding agreement willfully signed by both parties.  Iran?  Moron.

@Weonk I think you missed my point entirely. I didn't say the picks were all studs all I said is they aren't bust for 1st round picks.

Pollack was unfortunate and since he did walk away I'll give you the bust title.

Joseph is still playing effectively regardless with the Bengals or not. Still a solid pick as a 1. Just as Pollack was unfortunate...Free agency is something that a team cannot control.

Hall agreed.

Rivers he is injured alot and is not a game changer. However if he leads your team in tackles for multiple years its hard to label him a bust.

I will give you Smith being somewhat of a bust so far but this year he is having a pretty solid year. He hasn't given up a sack all year and Benson is having a solid year. Not much else you can really ask of a lineman.

Gresham I agree but definitely not a bust.

Green. True hard to whiff but Smith was overall number 6 with Monroe out there so it's not completely out of question.

Overall the Bengals drafts are normally a C- at best. However for the past 8 or 9 years now they have had pretty solid picks in the 1st round.

Those picks are not as good as you proclaim.

Pollack is unfortunate because he looked good but got hurt. Not the admins fault but still a bust.

Joseph is a great cb but is gone now. So he doesn't help

Hall is a great player. Loved the tandem with Joseph.

Rivers is always injured, has alot of tackles but nothing else, plays on the weak side as a back-up which is not what you want from 9th overall. Bust.

Smith is a bust. looked horrible in that shirtless run (that nobody asked him to make) at the combine and has underwhelmed since.

Gresham is a very good receivng te but not a blocker at all. Drafted 21st is to high for a one dimensional te. Should have been drafted more like scheffler than Pettigrew. He was first te drafted with gronkowski in the 2nd and moeaki, dickson, graham, in the third. They could have waited.

Green is a star. He was fourth overall though. Hard to whiff.

So yeah the bengals look good this year but there drafting neeeds to improve drastically. Brown runs the only team without a proper scouting department. So hopefully Brown hires a gm and tons of scouts forn these picks. (the 2nd first rounder probably won't happen).

Maybe Lousiana isn't filled with bandwaggon fans, or schools.  I know plenty about sports, America and facts such as what teams where bad and when.  I also know that for someone to spend this much time on a topic that doesn't include one of the 9 teams from parts of North America outside of Louisana, you must also be unemployed and living off of the hard working people in Lousiana who are subsidizing your welfare.

Enjoy the govement cheese that the Hortnets fans are paying for.
