EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- One of his throws went 20 yards through the air tight and perfect landing softly in the hands of his receiver. Others went towards the sideline or the middle of the field. The prototypical make every throw player is Sam Bradford. Deep passes were ideal.
The New York Giants beat the St. Louis Bradfords, 28-16, but you could see why he's one of the most promising young passers in football. He played without running back Steven Jackson and an offense that lacks firepower yet here he was making a game of it. It was a nice night for him even with the loss.
The Giants needed this game and they got it. They're 1-1 right in the thick of an NFC East race. Their only issue--injuries. The receiving corps, already hurt coming into this game, lost key contributor Mario Manningham to a concussion.
