Darnell Dockett just tweeted what?

Maybe Darnell Dockett is playing us all for fools. Read quote below. It's easily the sports tweet of the day.

The tweet from Dockett's verified account read: Damn I almost brung my "ROCKET" into work this morning like gilbert arenas. But mine was by accident it was in my book bag."

Remember, not long ago, NBA player Arenas brought multiple guns into the locker room. It was a dumb move, almost ending his career and humilating the sport.

Dockett could be playing us all for fools but it doesn't sound like it. I spoke to a league official who also saw the tweet and can tell you the NFL didn't find it funny if he was kidding.

Dockett later added this: "Kept sayin to myself why is my book bag so heavy, looked in side it was Big pookey"nickel plated Glock 40" trying to come to work w/me! Smh."

There may be no legal issues here at all and based on his tweets he didn't bring "Big Pookey" into the locker room. He almost did.

Regardless, what a dumbass tweet, even if he is joking. Why joke about almost bringing a gun into the locker room?

If he wasn't joking, why admit it? He has now gotten the attention of the NFL. The league, while respecting players' Constitutional rights, have always discouraged players from carrying around handguns.

Again, Dockett may be completely within his rights and done nothing illegal. But in this era of Plaxico Burress nearly shooting off his johnson haven't players learned that guns deserve much more respect?

At the very least don't they deserve a better name than Pookey?

hes a big dude wtf he need a gun for,
Because other people have guns too retard, and it doesn't matter how big you are...if you get shot there's a good chance you could die. If people know you have a gun, they're probably not gonna mess with you. And if someones mugging you and they DON"T know you have a gun....

Plus he has every right to own a gun, as long as he bought it legally and has it registered, and isn't a felon.

The right to bear arms!  I don't know if the conceal carry law is law in the state he is doing this...but it would be no different than me walking into wal-mart in wisconsin with a glock in my coat.  If it's legal it's legal,  what's the big deal.

To counterpoint that,  Who the hell in their right minds would bring a gun to work.  I'd be fired immediately.

It's all talk,  if he actually did it this would be a differnt story.  he didn't do a thing wrong,  it's a non-story.

Anyone who says that he has done nothing wrong is a complete fool. They say "if you live in a glass house don't throw stones", what he did may not be criminally or morally wrong but it is improper. Considering all the effort the leaugue is putting into cleaning up its image, what he did is nothing but childish. A lot of folks don't seem to understand what impropriety is. It is not about being right or wrong, it is more about the image you are trying to project out there. I don't think the NFL wants people to think that their players are this stupid. What does he have to gain or prove by making it publicly known that he accidentally took his gun to work?

Twitter is dumb. Really, truly dumb. Dumber than almost bringing a gun to work. Dumber than nickel plating a glock. Dumber than naming your gun "Big Pookey". Dumber even than the articles on this site.

My point is that Twitter is very dumb.

Judging from Docketts past actions and his tweets, I highly doubt if there were any books in the bag. I doubt he even knows what a book is.

Dockett should be fined for calling his backpack a book bag (unless of course it was full books AND guns).
