The Daily Shoutout

THE OWNERS STRIKE BACK: We've heard from the players. They feel hoodwinked. Bamboozled. They believe the owners pulled a bait and switch by reaching a handshake agreement on one deal and then presenting a different one later. Or parts of a different one.

"Bull----," said one management source.

Late last night and this morning the owners presented their side of what happened. It's a very simple retort: the terms approved by the owners were agreed to by the trade association negotiating team. The owners also say they haven't seen the final details of the deal. They maintain DeMaurice Smith and Jeff Saturday from the player side were informed the owners would vote and, according to owners, the two said they had no problem with it.

Owners also say they were told that players were going to one-up the owners and vote on Wednesday but couldn't because the players were more split.

So, there's that.

The players I spoke to on Friday morning remained convinced the owners were both underhanded and pulled a power play. The owners say the players are full of it.

Which means a deal gets done soon.

See you Monday when we'll officially have labor peace.

The Daily Shoutout

All this yapping from the players, and not one of them has presented a single example to make their case.  I have said it many times, the players are not a bright group, and in this situation, are nothing more than sheep.  I found it quite funny when these morons said they had to read the agreement.  When was the last time 90% of these clowns read 300 pages of anything?  Someone said it earlier, the lawyers are pulling their stings are the players are more than willing to follow along.  The owners gave them the opportunity to vote first on Wednesday, but here we are on Saturday and the players still have not done what they should do.  I have no respect for the idiots.  They are only here to entertain me.  End of story.

This is nothing other then BULLSHIT, the owners should pull the deal off the table and tell the players to go play in Canada. Yes, we will miss our football, but, let these greedy ass players miss their millons. Then see what kind of agreement they will accept on bended knees. Message to the owners lock up your stadiums and tell the players to F,,, off. See ya later.

I hate to break this to you, but the NBA lockout is going to be a fight.  Its a fight between owners, as well as players vs owners.  If 22/30 teams dont make money, how do you think those 8 that are profitable feel.  Their was scuttlebutt of missing one season and contraction of teams.  So there is the basketball.

Oh and for Baseball, their CBA runs out at the end of the season.  I have no idea on the likelihood that they will get their act together on the first try or play under the existing rules for one more year.  Adding in the McCourt drama, as well as the Wilpon's legal issues.  Don't count on a consensus being a given.

Slim chance all three main sports leagues are locked out to begin 2012.

Maybe the Mayan's knew something?
Not really.

Is anyone else getting tired of Freeman's smug "no, really, today they'll vote" posts? Does he just keep printing the same article and changing the day of the week? Look, we all know Freeman makes sh*t up, like, say, his college degrees. Would it be such a stretch to imagine him making up quotes from made-up sources? Either he has the worst sources on the planet or he's full of it. Either way, why waste time reading this?

Yeah SkyHawk, I'm really not sure what kind of logic Freeman is using.

How the hell does that mean a deal gets done soon? That would suggest a deal is nowhere near happening.

If we don't have a deal by Monday, then we really will have chaos and it will be a very bad kind of chaos.
