The Daily Shoutout

The owners are making them in their talks with the players and it's this fact, I'm told, that has allowed the two sides to make so much progress, so quickly (in addition to the lawyers having their asses kicked out of the room). No one will say exactly what the concessions are but significant ones have been made and the players believe they are genuine. My highly educated guess: one of them is the owners continuing to come down significantly from their original demand of taking another $1 billion off the top of player earnings. The players always believed this was an outrageous demand and the players were right.

The players are in turn making concessions of their own so the standoff has become a negotiation, a settlement discussion. In the end, both sides will be unhappy with the deal which means it'll be a fair one.

ROBERT KRAFT: People familiar with the negotiations say he has become one of the stars and has been a highly calming presence.

MAD MEN: Don't know why but these labor talks reminds me of this show.

Yes, these coaches are being pressured by owners to say these things.

See you Monday.

It is redicules for you to say that "we've always know the owners were righ". Speak for yourself. I don't agree with this at all. Any fan that thinks this has not followed things very closely. The Owners are not 100% right and the Players are not 100% right, but they have to use all their cards to try to get a equal result. Think what you want, but the Owners started this when they ask for 1 Billion Dollars back. It is strange to me that the people that think the owners are right, forget this fact, and they never mention it in their post. I do agree that the players are over paid, but again this is the Owners fault. They are the ones that started giving these outrages contracts in the first place. It all started with greed and the owners had it first, the players learned from the best. We all know that the fans are going to pay for this in the end, but the owners will get their 1 Billion dollars one way or the other. They have to pay for them shiney New Stadiums the just built. There will be no winner in the end, especially the fans.

Well lookey here. Freeman took a class in negotiation 101 and had to run to his computer to meet his deadline again. I think this was taught in 8th grade economics. Great bang up job yet again Freeman. Any way I can job shadow so I can be hired on to do somethign like this on a daily basis?

Wow...Mike Freeman spins in circles better than the late Michael Jackson. Players are winning, no wait Players are losing, hey the Players did what they have refused to do previously (until the NFLPA's lawyers got their asses kicked in a real court of law) sit at a table and negotiate so they are somehow The best? His highly educated guess? would have to be highly educated to do that. And no Mike the coaches are being pressured into telling the truth, they are offended a different Union that really isn't even a Union lied just like DeMaurice has done. The only reason there are negotiations is because the players have pressured the union to do so because they have no case and the real fan reaction is bubbling to the surface. You guys did a good job misrepresenting the fans early on, but we've always known the owners were right. People that just watch free games on TV don't count. Real fans will be in the stands even if the owners have to wipe the slate clean and start with all new players. Sure it would slow down the fantasy posers for a few weeks, but that would be back too. Your pipe dream failed Mike, you can try to spin it however you want but greedy players lost.
