Owners, players conference call

Posted on: April 8, 2011 9:22 am

The owners and players have a conference call at 10 a.m. eastern with judge Susan Nelson to possibly determine if and where mediation between the owners and players will happen.

The players want federal mediation while the owners want to return to George Cohen which is less binding.

What Nelson does -- if anything -- could determine the next step for the lockout.

players get paid a fortune for there services and these billionaires have a right to make money on there investments. These guys make more in year than others make in a life time.I think they fire everyone

And the kids in China deserve to make nothing to make shoes because the billionaire owners of the shoe companies should make money on thier investments. This is the reason your country is crumbling financially because it's okay for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer.Do the players make rediculous money, yes. But the owners are worth billions. What about the roster players who only make 200,000. Still alot of money yes but deserved. They struggle, travel half the year, work out the rest. People lose sight of the big picture because these guys make so much money.Well they should get a decent percentage if the league is so successful. That's why it is so successful not because some guy can balance numbers. Fair market value for the players is what they want and they make less(on average)than any other mainstream professional sport and is the only league that doesnt guarantee contracts.

I promise you one thing if they shorten the season or the season gets canceled over these money hungry ass's they can kiss my ass goodbye as a fan. They are showing just how much they give a dam about the fans all any of them care about is their deep pockets.

If they really want to make the fans happy they will take care of this ASAP with both side giving in a little so there isn't any football lost.

Then assuming that happens I say every preseason game tickets are free of charge and if that means crediting season ticket holders who purchased them then fine.

I think if that happend it would go a long way to show the fans that the nfl likes their fans.

I promise you, if properly motivated, both sides could have this thing done within 12 hours tops.  Quit ****ing around like a high school kid with a history paper to write.  Just sit down and get it done.

Pride won't allow your wish to come true.  The owners and players are in way too deep now and they can't go back on anything anymore.   Both are holding their ground and will only give in when they are forced to give in.... when they lose in court or wherever this is settled... when they've exhaused all appeals and can't win anymore.   They'll at least be able to say they fought the good fight and lost...... but they won't give in... ever.
