Dave Checketts and the Rams

Posted on: October 15, 2009 1:13 pm

If it's true as Profootballtalk.com via Bloomberg.com reports that billionaire George Soros is part of the Dave Checketts group to purchase the St. Louis Rams, then Soros, just like Rush Limbaugh, should be gone, too.

Soros, according to various published reports and an interview on CNN, once compared the Bush administration to the Nazis.

That's a pretty horrific comparison seeing as the Nazis tried to wipe out an entire race of people and Bush was just an idiot.

Soros should know better since he himself grew up Jewish in Nazi occupied Hungary.

Never, ever compare anyone or anything to the Nazis except, well, Nazis.

Can't be a hypocrite here. Limbaugh is worse than Soros but Soros shouldn't get a pass either. He should be gone from Checketts' group and probably will be once this news continues to circulate through the mainstream media.

The larger issue is what the hell is Checketts doing having such polarizing figures as part of his group?

Does he want to own a team? Because if he does it seems he's done everything in his power to undermine that desire.

By the time Checketts is done the only things left from this wreckage of an ownership group will be his Golden Retriever Skippy and the TiVo remote.

I think the only good that can possibly come out of this is if the Rams move back to L.A.

By Mr. Freeman's own words... "Limbaugh (who he said made racist comments) is worse than Soros (who he said made nazi comments)".

Why is racism worse than Nazi-ism?

Otherwise, come up with another argument rather than "blind sheep"... cause you've repeated that one time and time again and been shot down repeatedly.
I completely agree with this post.  If Freeman was a Jew, he's be attacking Soros and giving Limbaugh a free pass.  But since he's black, Rush is practically Satan while Soros is just a bad guy.

Freeman, you're a piece of crap.  You're a racist pig!  Get back to your Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton shrines.  It's obvious that their kind is leading you around by the nose.  And I hope you enjoy being a victim on the plantation.  **NEWSFLASH!!**  The shackles were removed a LONG time ago.  The fact is, you get off on screaming "RACISM!" just as much as those other two hate-mongers do.  You're pathetic!

It's the hypocrisy, the public bias, and the politics that drive me nuts over the whole Rush Limbaugh thing.  I love how ESPN commentators, and many other commentators for that matter, call Rush Limbaugh a racist...I would love to see those comments in writing.

The Donovan McNabb comments have a racist theme, a dicussion with race underlying as part of his though...that doesn't make him racist.

I though this was overall a good artical!

Yes, a big difference, but not in the way you think...

The writer of the post above should do some research.  Soros is not be a household name because he does most of his work behind the scenes, but he is much more powerful and influential than Limbaugh, and not in a good way.  I agree with Freeman's point completely.  Not only is Soros an enemy of Limbaugh, he is also an enemy of America, capitalism and freedom.

i like the guy that didn't know who Soros is... and the other guy that couldn't believe that Soros and Hush Bimbo would be on the same "team" trying to purchase a team...

ha

it's almost like a game they play, isn't it?

The bill "inside edition" o'rielly's, the rush hush bimbo's the keith olberman's and soros and rupert murdochs of the world... it's a game. a cheerleader-a-thon that generates billions in media revenue every year. and the politicians use these turds as vehicles to get reecleted.

Bush was a liar

Obama is a liar

90+% of them are. it's what the lobbiests pay them to do... and they play the public like a fiddle.

I'm glad you at least came out with some balance this time and I agree that if Limbaugh is kicked out, so should Soros. As to who's worst, yeah Limbaugh has said some ignorant things (some of those statements are correctly sourced as a Limbaugh statement others are false such as the comments about Slavery, James Earl Ray, and the NAACP & Riots) but Soros is known as "The man who broke the Bank of England" and not only caused a lot of financial pain to people in Europe, but also Malaysia, and Asia. Limbaugh I can easily change the channel and not put up with his BS, but if some one devalues a currency and part of the reason is to prove a point about how important he really is (which Soros did because he believed GHW Bush and Margaret Thatcher didn't give him the respect he though he deserved), but there is nothing anyone here on CBSsports line can do about. So given a bit of history (which unfortnately most Americans are ignorant about) I could careless about him and his Bush & Nazi comments, t's the fact that this guy did cause a lot of grief to hundreds of millions of people that I would be concerned about.

What a weak attempt to save your joke of a job Freeman.  By your standards, people should be ridiculed and opportunities should be decided by their opinions and political leanings.  So should your job be in jeopardy?  I think so.  You are one of the people who opened up this can of worms, and damn, it keeps backfiring.  You are clueless, why not just quit while you are behind, you know, put the shovel(laptop) down and quit digging deeper.  Political beliefs have no place in purchasing opportunities, regardless of the forum.  Before you buy your next humble pie at the grocery store, you might want to let them know how you voted in the last election, just to make sure you are eligible for the purchase.

Soros never said black men were out to rape white women like Limbaugh did when the notorious ''wilding'' incident was being discussed back in 1989.
And the incident turned out to be a police fabrication as DNA evidence proved the black men charged and convicted in that crime were all innocent. Limbaugh never retracted or apologized for his hostile words.

Soros is entitled to his political views like everyone else. But nobody is entitled to vent their racial hatred on the air waves as Limbaugh has done in the past.  Soros' comment, assuming, he is being quoted correctly, is nothing more than a political comment.  Limbaugh's views were expressions of racial hatred.  That is a huge difference. Anyone can readily ascertain the difference.

I give Mike Freeman credit, how you can fart on a keyboard and come up with a story takes talent!

You know Freeman you're the king of the backhanded compliments Its like me saying, "Mike Freeman probably is a nice guy but if his mother had an abortion the world would be a better place."
